Hacking Daily Rituals with Bee Wild
Good evening! QueenBee here. In our blog, “Don’t Be Lazy. Journal for Success,” I mentioned that John Wright included Journaling in his daily rituals along with meditation, breathing, stretching, and so on. So, I thought you might like to learn more about creating your own daily rituals.
Why You Should Consider Creating Daily Rituals
In a post I wrote for one of my coaching partners, I told the following story:
My first mentor, a man who literally coached thousands of people who went on to achieve financial success and time freedom, often said:
Today I will do what others won’t…so, tomorrow I can do what others can’t.
What he meant when he said that is that achievers have daily habits that foster success and go beyond what the average person generally is willing to do. Successful people focus on preparing, planning, doing, and contributing more. This value-added mindset is what sets them apart.
Having a daily ritual is one of the success habits that he taught, and the Core Team at Bee Wild all have created a daily ritual that works for them.
What Are Daily Rituals?
In The Story of Philosophy by Will Durant, he wrote, when discussing Aristotle’s philosophy, that “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Highly successful people understand this better than anyone. They realize that the small daily habits we have play a major role in our success. So, we could say that a daily ritual is a success habit that you repeat every day.
How Do I Create a Daily Ritual?
Here are some of the success habits from which people build their daily rituals:
Journaling – We talked about this in our last coaching blog.
Treasure Mapping – Create a visual representation of your ideal day, including your vision for your life, relationships, work, and so on. We will be sharing our new Treasure Maps with you soon.
Mental Rehearsal – I am sure you have heard of Olympic Athletes who have imagined that they have “crossed the finished line a million times” before they even got to the Olympics. This is called, “mental rehearsal.”
Meditation/Contemplation – This is a resting state of consciousness where you focus on your connection with Divine and open yourself up to receive healing, insights, energy, support, and stronger connections.
Reading – Read at least 15 minutes from a positive book every night before you go to bed.
Learning – Be a lifelong learner. Attend conferences and seminars; watch videos; listen to podcasts; watch factual television and movies.
Breathing – Learn to do abdominal breathing and spend 15 minutes a day focusing on your breath.
Stretching and Exercise – Light stretching in the morning is very beneficial for your body. Also, light walking outside for 30 minutes a day is very wellness-enhancing.
Nightly To Do List – Review your To Do List every night before you go to bed, and then let go of your concerns about your future actions. This will help you relax before you go to sleep.
Sleep – Take a warm bath or shower before when you get ready for bed. Do your nightly To Do List and five Gratitude Statements in your journal. Read from your positive book for at least 15 minutes. Then, turn off all electricity in your room. You can meditate quietly or do progressive relaxation so that you fall asleep in a relaxed state.
What’s Next?
Next month we will be talking about creating a Treasure Map and sharing our new Treasure Maps with you. In the meantime, if you have any questions about creating your own daily ritual, leave a comment on this blog.
