Thursday’s Restaurant Review –
Yeah! Burger
The staff at Organic Mountains had the pleasure of attending the Atlanta Paleo/Primal Meetup at Yeah! Burger a couple of weeks ago. So, we thought Thursday’s Restaurant Review should be about our experience.
I attended Atlanta Paleo/Primal Meetup twice now and really enjoy this group. The leader, Elizabeth, is very knowledgeable about ancestral eating and wellness. But, the best thing about the meetup is how accepting members are. If you bring a guest that eats bread, no one says a word. If you aren’t strict about your eating habits, no one criticizes. On the other hand, if you ask for support, there’s always someone who can explain the value of the Paleo lifestyle. I was really glad that John and Tolen joined me and could see this for themselves.
We met at Yeah! Burger’s West Midtown location. Yeah! Burger is Atlanta’s eco-friendly, gluten free, organic burger joint that is rated as one of the Top Ten Burger Restaurants by Bon Appetitmagazine. When you come into the restaurant, the first thing you see behind the counter is a list of the locally grown, organic food they are serving.
Yeah! Burger has an extensive menu, with many choices suitable for the Paleo/Primal/Ancestral eating program. I had the Cobb Salad, and I really loved the freshness of the ingredients. The blue cheese had very deep flavor. Some of the Paleo meetup members substituted beef or bison burgers for the usual leaf lettuce, with sweet potato fries and Crispy Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were tasty and browned on the edges. John had the local kale salad, and the kale just popped with the balsamic vinaigrette.
Yeah! Burger has a very well stocked bar as well as a huge selection of non-alcoholic beverages. So, this restaurant is a good choice for a chillaxing farm-to-table meal, complete with beverages.
