No Bees and Pollinators; No Real Food
We continue our commitment to serve your wellness by sharing possibilities where you can educate yourself about the basic underpinnings of wellness, make your own decisions about how you support your body, and advocate for your choice. That is why we posted our blogs on why pollinators, and specifically bees, are important to people having the choice to eat real food: http://216.172.168.215/~beewild1/wake-up-no-pollinators-no-food-part-1/ and how you can insure that real food is available for you and your family: https://blog.beewild.buzz/wake-up-no-pollinators-no-food-part-2/.
White House Pollinator Task Force
We are proud that many of our customers read the materials and signed petitions from the Organic Consumers Association, Center for Food Safety, Natural Resources Defense Council and other pro-natural, real food organizations. As a result of the public interest shown for the plight of bees and other pollinators, President Obama created the White House Pollinator Task Force last year. Unfortunately, the task force has yet to take action to protect our bees and pollinators.
Petitions to Ban Bee-Killing Pesticides
This morning we received an email from the Organic Consumers Association asking us to sign and share their petition for banning pesticides to insure continued bee population health. They need 4 million signatures by March 3 in order to make a big impact. We invite you to read their information as well as the overwhelming research that pesticides are jeopardizing bees. Then, consider signing and sharing the petition.
Why Has Correcting the Problem Taken So Long?
On the one hand, we all know that the wheels of government can move slowly. But, over the course of time, many concerned organizations and citizens have found strong past connections between Monsanto and other pesticide manufacturers and the EPA. It seems strange that the EPA, co-chair of the Pollinator Task Force, continually has been influenced by board members who have past ties to Monsanto. For example, see http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Monsanto. We think that everyone should look at this information carefully and do some critical thinking about the influence mega-corporations have on governmental policies. As always, we advocate you doing your own research and making up your own mind.
You Can Impact This Issue
Regardless of corporate lobbyists and tardy government action, every single one of us, as American voters, can make a difference to the bees and other pollinators. We can join our voice to the voice of others who care about real food and be heard!!! Over this weekend, we ask you to look into the bees’ situation and consider signing the Petition and sharing it with your friends and family, asking them to sign the Petition before March 3.
The bees and other pollinators thank you!!!!!
