Everything You Do Counts –
Create a Bee Garden
We contribute many posts and articles on our Facebook Fan Page, Twitter feed, and Pinterest Boards about advocating for bees and pollinators because their success is foundational to having real food. We continue to share this information because we know that real food is the basis for good health, and holistic wellness is valued by our customers and readers. So, please visit our social media sites daily and learn more about holistic wellness, real food, and advocacy for the bees and pollinators.
Taking an Active Role
Reading articles, signing petitions, and writing letters about the horrors of pesticides and GMOs, the value of bees and pollinators, and benefits of eating organic, local, sustainable real food is half the equation for encouraging positive change in farming and food distribution. The other half is actively making a difference for the bees and other pollinators. How can you do this? Simply, plant bee and pollinator friendly plants in your garden or on your deck.
Creating a Bee Garden
There are many amazing articles online about creating a bee garden. Here are several that I like:

The main thing I learned from updating my research is that bees like single bloom flowers, they need a water source like a bird bath, and they need some form of quiet shelter. Even a person with a small balcony or window ledge can grow a few individual pots of bee balm (The English name for this plant is Bergamot, and it’s a well known herb that is used in teas and sachets.).
Growing a bee garden is something you can to do help the pollinators, improve your environment, and fundamentally supportĀ the continuation of having real food on your table. Take photos of your bee garden and send them to me at john@organicmountains.com. I’ll be glad to post these photos on the blog, with your comments about how bee gardening has changed your environment.
