For a Fun Night with Good Food –
Steve’s Live Music
A couple of weekends ago, a friend had her 60th Birthday Party at Steve’s Live Music in Sandy Springs, GA. What a fun night!!!!
Steve’s reminds me of the coffee houses I went to as a teenager in the Sixties. Steve’s is a 95 seat venue, with “homey” tables and chairs, a small stage, and a nice bar, located around the corner on Roswell Road and Hilderbrand Drive. They also have a store for music memorabilia.
Steve describes his music mission by saying, we are:
Atlanta’s Live Music Venue featuring International and American Folk Music including Blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, Jazz, Russian, and more!
Steve’s opens at 6:30 p.m. nightly, has musicians playing traditional Irish music late in the afternoons on Saturday as well, and serves a Jazz brunch on Sundays. Here’s their contact information:

We arrived at Steve’s about 6:30 p.m. and were taken to our reserved table. The entrance fee is reasonable, only $10 per person. When we wanted to be moved closer to the stage (We were a group of eight who were the first people to reserve seats for the evening.), the staff was very gracious.
There were plenty of waiters and waitresses who knew their drink and food menu well. They answered all our questions, were attentive without being bothersome. The fare primarily is vegetarian with some fish mixed in and looked delicious. Our group was a mix of alcohol and non-alcohol drinkers, and there were plenty of choices for everyone. Half of our party ate meals, and everyone enjoyed the farm-to-table style fare.
We were there for the open mic for song writers. The music was original compositions, written by well-known local singer/songwriters. Wonderful songs – I can see why there was a completely full house. The comradery between musicians was a joy to see, as well. They even sang Happy Birthday to my friend which tickled her.
I definitely recommend Steves Live Music for a night out of celebration, good music, and wonderful food! I hear that they also clear the tables for dancing at the last show on Saturday night!
