Key to Wellness –
Loving Your Body
Since we are still celebrating the holidays, I was wondering what I could share with you that would be a gift that keeps giving. This teaching floated up, and I think it’s one of the most important blogs I’ve written so far.
Love Your Body and
Treat It Like It Is Your Best Friend
Over the last year, I’ve changed my spiritual focus to actualizing God’s promises of unlimited health, plenty, and joy in my life. On this journey I had the pleasure of working with Rikka Zimmerman, who woke me up to the power of healing my relationship with my body, as a matter of priority. I would like to summarize a few of her teachings with you so that you can consider making this shift in consciousness now.
Rikka said, “Look at how you treat your body. You look at it in the mirror with disgust. You criticize how it looks. You feed it garbage, and you push it past its limits. If you treated your cat or dog this way, you would be arrested for animal abuse. Your body is a mammal, and you abuse it constantly.”
Let me tell you – this teaching really opened my eyes. So, I started creating a better relationship with my body by asking questions, like, “What do you require, Body?” “Would you like to rest? Move? Eat?” Treating my body with kindness and respect, just like I would my cats, has really shifted my relationship with my body.
I also am paying attention to how my body responds to these questions. I’ve switched to honey as my sweetener of choice and have significantly changed the way I eat. By asking questions and honoring my body’s responses, I’ve lost 8 lbs. without effort. Improving my relationship with my body has led me to have more space to receive, and after a year of doing the best I can with this new commitment, I am experiencing a degree of instantaneous manifestation on a daily basis.
News Flash – Your Body Needs Material Resources;
You Are Energy, So You Do Not
As I’m moving along in this shift, I finally heard what Rikka told me – “Your body needs money, clothes, shelter, food, water; you are energy, and you have everything you need.” When this teaching finally sank in, I started asking my body how much money, what kind of home, what kind of food it wants to eat. Having this dialogue has radically altered my experience. Every day I see miracles – people taking me to dinner, a Christmas cruise, a rainbow appearing in the sky just because I asked for one. If I had paid attention to “Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,” from my childhood Bible studies, I would have saved hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in therapy, medicine, and seminars. Because treating my body as an equal, conscious partner is the key to wellness, prosperity, and living your heart’s desire.
I would like to end this blog with a simple exercise. Once a day stand in front of the mirror naked and look your mirror image straight in the eye and say, “I love, appreciate, and accept you exactly as you are.” 20 times. I cried the first few days I tried this. So, don’t be surprised if emotions comes up when you first do this exercise. As you go along with this exercise, your acceptance and love of your body will begin to create measurable miracles in your life — well worth the time and effort to heal your relationship with your body.
